What Is IoT
Imagine a world in which every device in the home and devices in the office are connected with each other. A world where lights automatically turn on/off according to us. Front door automatically unlocks when approached by a member of the household but stays locked when a stranger arrives on the front step. That is the type of world the Internet of Things can create.
The Internet of Things is the concept of everyday objects. We cannot imagine the power of the IoT. The IoT links smart objects to the Internet. It can enable an exchange of data never available before, and bring users information in a more secure way.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a computing concept that describes a future where everyday physical objects will be connected to the Internet and be able to identify themselves to other devices. This means we can say that all devices can communicate with each other. Through Iot an object can share its information with other objects easily with the help of the sensors.
The IoT is significant because an object that can represent itself digitally becomes something greater than the object by itself. No longer does the object relate just to you, but is now connected to surrounding objects and database data. When many objects act in unison, they are known as having “ambient intelligence.”
Most of us think about being connected in terms of computers, tablets and smart phones. IoT can make a digital world where anything can be connected and anything can be communicate in an intelligent manner, Thus IoT can make a world digital which can communicate in an intelligent fashion. In other words, with the Internet of Things, the physical world is becoming one big information system.
Values and Importance of IoT
Smarter home security system which you can remotely control for lock or unlock and a home system which cool down your home automatically according to your preferences.
The actual true value of IoT is does not lie in locking our door automatically or turning the light on/off. The main important thing is to collect the data related to the device. Collecting the data from the devices will allow running connected cities — or it could be the world — more efficiently.
All devices obviously generate large amounts of data and then storage of data is another big problem for us. Actually when we collect the data from devices then sometimes it’s the privacy issues for some consumers, but for true and efficient use of IoT data collection is an important key that needs to be figured out.
So now we can say that “Internet of Things will allow more information about the world to be gathered,” which allow users to interact with anything in an intelligent manner.
